In celebration of Black History Month, Central Oregon Coast NOW members will be sharing information about black women who are significant to them. These women may be famous or not. All of them have made significant contributions and are to be celebrated. The first contribution to this series was written by COC NOW member Jeanne St. John; she celebrates Marian Wright Edelman, founder of the Children’s Defense Fund. To read St. John’s article about Edelman “click” on the highlighted name. If you would like to celebrate a black woman who is significant to you please submit your “biography” (it needs to only be a few paragraphs) as an attachment in Word format to firstname.lastname@example.org.
