The Central Oregon Coast NOW (National Organization for Women) Foundation is committed to making sure that Lincoln County’s only public radio station, KYAQ – 91.7 FM, remains on the air.  The Foundation will match for one year the first 8 new sustaining memberships of $10 per month or more ($120 annually spread over 12 months) pledged during KYAQ’s annual fund drive.  Your $10 per month donation will net $20 per month to KYAQ, thanks to the Central Oregon Coast NOW Foundation!  KYAQ is a 501(c)3 corporation which means your gift is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

In addition to 8 new sustaining memberships being matched by the Central Oregon Coast NOW Foundation for one year, new sustaining members, and current sustaining members who increase their monthly donation by at least $5 per month, will be entered in a raffle to win a beautiful candelabra created by renowned artist, the late Sam Briseno.

To make a sustaining donation visit http://www.kyaq.org/ and select “Monthly Donation”.  For your donation to qualify for the Central Oregon Coast NOW Foundation “matching grant” and for a raffle entry for the Sam Briseno candelabra, make sure you indicate that your donation is either “never end” or is for at least 12 months.

KYAQ offers a wide range of nationally produced current events programs like Democracy Now, Alternative Radio, State of Belief, and many others. It does not replicate the programming offered by other local radio outlets.  It also offers a variety of locally produced programs focused on providing live music and readings from local artists and writers as well as information on local events.  Among the local offerings are Furious George offering commentary by George A. Polisner on politics, economics and “other stuff that will make you furious, make you think, and possibly make you act”; Crisis in the Middle East with Gilbert Schramm, a local historian and scholar, who spent many years working and studying in the Middle East; and FYI With Franki Trujillo-Dalbey, who talks with community leaders, activists, and community service groups to bring about a better understanding of who’s out there doing what to benefit of Lincoln County’s residents.   For a complete list of these programs, please visit the website at http://www.kyaq.org/ .

While KYAQ and the Central Oregon Coast NOW Foundation are focusing on sustaining memberships, all donations are welcome.  To make a one-time donation either visit http://www.KYAQ.org and scroll down to “One-Time Donation”, or mail your donation to KYAQ, PO BOX 1664, Newport, OR 97365.
