IIRT meeting to discuss human rights strategiesThe Immigration Information Response Team of Lincoln County will be meeting in the upstairsconference room of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 9th and Hurbert in Newport, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Everyone interested in protecting civil and human rights from the current threats to vulnerable populations is invited to attend.
    Cara Schufelt, co-director of the Rural Organizing Project, will lead the meeting, giving an overview of the implications for small-town Oregon, strategies so far around the state, action steps we could take, and facilitating a discussion of strategic thinking for Lincoln County.
