Stand with Charlottesville – today, Aug. 14, Yachats – 11:45 am – the 501 Building

On the Central Oregon Coast, we must stand up against what happened yesterday in Charlottesville, where hate groups and white supremacists showed up, armed, and with torches in hand, to push their hateful message. One peaceful anti-racist protester was killed… as were two law officers who died in a related helicopter crash.

We will be sending a message that hate is not welcome in our community. Join us in solidarity so that we can prevent these ideas from becoming normalized in any way, shape, or form.  Let’s meet tomorrow, Monday, August 14th, at 11:45 at the old bank building (the 501 Building) in Yachats.  We will stand together against hatred on the sidewalk of 101 from 12:00 to 1:30.

Bring signs, with lettering big enough for drivers-by to read!!  Maybe STOP THE HATE; or MY HEART IS IN CHARLOTTESVILLE; or whatever your heart tells you.

Spread the word! All are welcome… families, friends, kids! This affects us all. We’re calling on everyone to come together to say that white supremacy has no place in our community.  And if 1.5 hours doesn’t work for you, come for as long as you can, or just say hello!

 Hope to see you there!
