Protesters at Newport City Hall protesting what’s happening in Washington DC.
Don’t Tread on Robert Mueller!
Newport City Hall
Protest ran from City Hall to Highway 101 and Highway 20, and a bit beyond.
Lots of folks upset that Trump seems poised to try to stop the Mueller investigation.
Coast residents of all ages showed solidarity against what they called the erosion of integrity, fairness and reliability from our Congress and especially President Trump.
Well over 100 protesters showed up in Newport Thursday evening, carrying signs and raising their voices in protest over what is happening to our government in Washington DC. Numerous similar protests were carried out Thursday night in many communities around the country, sponsored by women’s organizations nationwide.
Many women protested that while the Democrats made great inroads by creating a Democratic majority in the House, the Republicans gained a few seats in the Senate.
The women are very concerned that President Trump may try to end Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian influence in the 2016 and perhaps 2018 elections. Many protesters contend that Trump’s business ties with Russian oligarchs remain problematic for the U.S. and other countries.
